● Work closely with the molecular biology team to develop metabolic engineering strategies for natural and bio-synthetic products;● Develop and implement strategies for quantitative and qualitative analysis of biochemical pathways and associated compounds; ● Perform cell based extraction, purification and analytics using chemical and mechanical extraction protocols, HPLC, GC-MS, GC-UV, LC-MS and LC-UV;● Lead the development and optimisation of high sensitivity bioassays for the detection and quantification of target compounds;● Use your knowledge and analytical capabilities to monitor and quantify product synthesis in real-time and provide feedback to the molecular biology and production teams to refine culture methods;

We’re looking for an exceptional scientist with a commercial attitude to join the senior team and spearhead the commercialisation of biologics from algae. You will manage the design and build of the up stream (USP) and downstream processing (DSP) facility and have the skills and imagination to carry out high efficiency genetic engineering on algae.
● Lead the algae production and biologics team, including recruiting, management, KPI development and review of researchers and production level employees ● Lead the identification, development, and testing of next-generation tools for high-throughput genetic engineering of algal cells. These tools should include direct genome editing as well as robust methods for the reliable and efficient introduction of transgenes into algal cells in a site-specific manner and the developing high sensitivity bioassays for the detection and quantification of target compounds● Manage the production and optimisation of batch and continuous cell cultures and work closely with the automation and software team to develop software and hardware that facilitates high-throughput genetic engineering and scalable production.
This is an all-encompassing opportunity for a senior designer/ developer to join our team and take ownership of delivering the user experience of our greenfields web-based lab software that runs biologics systems and interfaces with our lab technicians.
Responsibilities ● Design and implement from clickable mockup through to website for creating, comparing and managing biological experiments● Work with internal ‘product owner’ to discover and display relevant results from a large data sets● Provide live device monitoring of automated bioreactor units using a combination of dashboards, notifications and third party services ● Integration with results from computer vision and machine learning systems
This is an all-encompassing opportunity for a senior mechatronics engineer to join our team and take ownership of delivering the next iteration of our automated bioreactors.
Responsibilities ● Design engineering and fabrication management of bioreactor systems for live organisms ● Advanced 3D modelling in Fusion 360 ● PCB and electronics design in KiCAD working with high current DC● Robotics design, sourcing, manufacture and implementation● Hands on assembly and disassembly of electronics including testing and fault finding● Hands on capability to weld, drill, solder, cut, and manage outcomes● Some light coding in Arduino for prototypes● Some skill in fluid dynamics modelling and process engineering would be highly advantageous
